A finished book matched table top
This is a book matched table top created by using two pieces that were facing each other in the log to create a single slab. Although book matched slabs are not uniform, a nice amount of symmetry results from this technique.
The bow tie
This particular bow tie otherwise known as a butterfly or Dutchman was cut from a piece of Black Ask burl.
Imperfection or character?
Like a home, some people like clean lines and others like character. Sometimes what appears at first sight to be an imperfection turns out to be the most beautiful part of the wood. Here is a piece of wood that was infested with carpenter ants. This would be useless for dimensional lumber but perfect for a unique coffee or end table.
Farmhouse style
Farmhouse style tables are very simple yet sturdy tables that can be a strong centerpiece to any kitchen or dining area. This style table is often made from construction lumber or reclaimed wood that has been salvaged and repurposed, keeping the character of its former life.
